So, this blog post is a bit of a collaboration between LimebirdKate and LimebirdBeth. We stumbled upon the 100 word challenge from Julia’s Place.

This is the challenge that she set – ” I want you to choose a favourite carol and re-write it with the theme of a Christmas Dinner. You have to tell your readers which carol it is and they have to be able to sing your version back to themselves. That means the right tempo and beat.” So, here are our offerings:
LimebirdKate
To the tune of Joy To The World
Joy to the Chef!
He killed the goose
and served it with stuffing!
He pureed the squash
and mashed up the potatoes.
He dished up cranberries
and poured goblets of wine,
and then, and then
we wined and dined!
Joy to the Chef!
He baked three pies
pumpkin, pecan, chocolate!
He served sugar cookies
and spiked our coffee.
We’re feeling a bit full.
Oh very, very full!
So then, so then,
we watched TV!

To the tune of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.
I am a stressed out mother,
With a hundred other things to do,
Even though I’ve written my list out,
I just need some help from you.
All you do is sit and watch me,
While I run around all day,
We need to do prep for Christmas dinner,
Or it won’t be done til’ May.
It’s a snowy Christmas Eve,
And all I have to say,
If you don’t come give me a hand
From my house, you’re gonna be banned.
Ah now I see you’re coming,
To help me chop, let me show you how.
I’m not longer a stressed out mother.
Time to put my feet up now.
The deadline is the 19th December, why don’t you have a go?
